Storyboard - Final Video

So I'm feeling good about my storyboard... better than I was at our face-to-face class. I have already gotten consent forms from all my students and I have conducted preliminary interviews with my students. I know what clips I want, so I just need to go through all of the interviews and see which clips I really like and which ones I need to retake or get filled in. I need to get a kid who is not on yearbook to be my "daydreamer," but I imagine I can get that done this week no problem. This week, I'm going to go through all my videos and start splicing clips together.

Please, please give me feedback! I'm hoping that my video meets my purposes as an advertisement for the class, but also still maintains the storytelling aspect. Let me know what y'all think!!

  1. Phase 1 looks good. The student daydreaming does help with the story arch. Next, the pre-production phase, this will be important.

  2. Brilliant! Just what was needed--the daydreamer. I am really excited for you about this video--it is going to be so useful and I bet your students will have a great time acting in it. I think the hardest challenge will be to edit it down to a length that will be right for the students' attention spans.Your students will be the best critics and give useful feedback as well.

  3. I think this is going to be great. A fast paced video is the best way to reach people these days. You have a lot of info. I would make fast transitions and even talk fast. Remember, your attention span much longer than theirs. I also think the most influential part is the student testimonials. You might want to have them plan out what they are going to say ahead of filming so they can really think about it. Looks good! I can't wait.

  4. I think you video sounds very interesting and I like the plan you have. It covers a lot of useful information for your students. One thought to add to your second "through bubble" at the beginning of the story would be to add "...but what would I do in yearbook" or "what does it entail". etc.

I am actually looking at going down the same path as your story with having a student/teacher asking themselves why they would want to do what I am advertising.
